A young German friend, her distant gaze and entwined fingers expressing inner thoughts and feelings. The dark 'grunge' or 'indy' clothing emphasises the strong 'X' composition crossing at her hands, echoed in the dividers. The carpet in my studio and antique dividers belonged to her grandmother, a close family friend. The figure is close to life size.
